Obituaries

Maryann E.  (Basher) Fitzpatrick of Duxbury, formerly of Quincy, passed away peacefully on Feb. 17 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Fitzpatrick, and loving mother to the late Paul “Fitzy” Fitzpatrick.  Oldest sister to the late Dorothy.  She is survived by her daughter Donna Tripp and her husband Carl of Litchfield Maine, grandson Robert Tripp and his wife Laura of Kingston, sister Ruth Byrne of California, and her nieces Maryann and Michelle.

Mrs. Fitzpatrick was born in Braintree, and graduated from Milton High school as a class valedictorian.  After a stint with a local bank, she settled in as the front desk clerk for the President City Inn.  After 50 years of service she retired from full time work at the age of 84.  She enjoyed gardening, traveling extensively throughout the United States, bingo with friends and volunteering for local churches.  She was a lifetime agent for the Franciscan Monks.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 24 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Tuesday there will be  a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Church 44 School St. Quincy. Burial is at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.
