Obituaries

Mary C. (Barker) McLaughlin of Quincy passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014 at age 91. Born in Boston where she was raised and educated, she lived in Mattapan until moving to Quincy in 1976. She worked for many years in the deli department at Shaw’s. The beloved wife of the late Joseph F. “Tell It to Joe” McLaughlin, Mary was the loving mother of Nancy McLaughlin of Quincy and Joseph McLaughlin and his wife Janice of Braintree; dear grandmother of Brendan, Brian and Kevin; beloved sister of William Barker of Wrentham; and is also survived by two great grandsons, Brendan Jr and Ryan McLaughlin of Braintree and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 17 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Saturday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. John the Baptist Church 44 School St. Quincy. Cremation will follow.
