Obituaries

Mary D. (Dooley) Bennett of Quincy passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 at age 90. Born in South Boston where she was raised and educated, she worked as a receptionist at Mass. Eye and Ear for 25 years before retiring. The beloved wife of the late Edward T. Bennett, Mary was the loving mother of Pauline Bennett and her husband Ken Gibson of Marshfield, Edward Bennett, Jr. and his companion Margaret Fay of Quincy, Michael Bennett and his wife Noreen of Weymouth and the late Dr. Kathleen M. Bennett; dear grandmother of Jessica Gibson of Marshfield and Samantha and Ryan Bennett of Weymouth; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, June 18 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Thursday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at Holy Family Parish, Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 227 Sea St. Quincy. Burial is at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, W. Roxbury.
