Mary (Lydon) Fahey of Quincy passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at age 82. Born in Connemara, Galway, Ireland, where she was raised and educated, she lived in Quincy since 1962. For many years  Mary ran the kitchen and worked as the housekeeper for St. Joseph’s Rectory, Quincy Point.

The beloved wife of the late Michael J. “Joe” Fahey, she was the loving mother of John Fahey of Weymouth, Mary Margaret Dealy and her husband George of Medfield, Margaret Ann Benkart and her husband Peter of Scituate, Annie Martin and her husband Sean of Braintree and the late James J. Fahey; dear sister of Barbara McCarty of Hyde Park, Margaret Walsh of W. Roxbury and the late Michael, John, Coleman, Patrick and Val Lydon; sister-in-law of Bridget Lydon of Walpole; and is also survived by 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Tuesday, February 2 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Wednesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 10:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM at St. Joseph’s Church 550 Washington St. Quincy. Burial is at Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Quincy.
