Mary T. Canavan of Quincy passed away at home on Sunday, December 27, 2009 at the age of 63. Born in Galway, Ireland, she was raised and educated there and in Dorchester. She worked as a bakery clerk at the Quincy Star Market for 18 years and lived in the city since1973.
The beloved wife of the late James Canavan, Mary was the loving mother of Kelly A. Canavan of Quincy, sister of Coleman Conneely of Ireland and the late Patrick Conneely of London and is also survived by her sister-in-law Mary Conneely of London and two nieces.
Visiting hours will be held at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center on Wednesday, December 30 from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Family and friends are invited. On Thursday, there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 8:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Church at 9:00am. Burial is in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
