Mary Theresa (Sheehan) Guest passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 2, 2010 after a brief illness at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Gordon B. Guest, she was the loving mother of Michael G. Guest and his wife Barbara of Kihei, Maui, HI and Holmes, CA, Mary J. Olivere and her husband Daniel of Weymouth, Martin B. Guest of Cohasset, Matthew J. Guest and his wife Tammy of Weymouth, Judith Dwyer and her husband Robert of Quincy and the late Eileen M. Guest. Mary will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Renee LaPlume, Kerry LaPlume, Jessica Riley Guest, Daniel Olivere, Joshua Dwyer, Lindsey Dwyer, MaryEllen Dwyer, Michael Guest, Sarah Guest, Nathan Guest and Justin Guest, and her beloved great grandchildren, Nichole Hartnett and Noah Rogers. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Dowd of Weymouth, her brother Edward Sheehan of Tucson, AZ and many nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Madison, ME, she moved to Quincy in 1941. Her first job was at the Fore River Shipyard during WWII. After retiring from Kemper Insurance in 1989, Mary attended Quincy College where she excelled. She later enjoyed working parttime until the age of 70 for Boston Financial Data Services. Mary’s greatest pleasures in life were family gatherings, dancing, going to the movies and especially spending time at the beach.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, July 5 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Tuesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. Joseph’s Church, Quincy Point. Cremation will follow.
