Obituaries

Mattea Verlicco Peachey of Quincy passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at age 96. Born in Lawrence, she lived in Quincy for over 80 years.  A homemaker, she worked at Quincy Hospital in the billing department for five years and enjoyed painting in her spare time. The daughter of the late Antonio and Marianna Napoli, Mattea was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Verlicco and George Peachey,  the loving mother of Frances Whittaker of CT, Carole A. Walsh and her husband Ted of Quincy, Joseph Verlicco and his wife Claire of Quincy and Janet Treworgy and her husband Paul of ME, dear step-mother of Donna Leary and her late husband Joseph of Raynham, James Peachey and his wife Jeanne of Quincy, Candace Peachey and Billy King of Kingston and Pamela Peachey of FL; sister of the late Sadie Pittsley, Annie Mezzetti, Lee Frantelo and Santo Napoli; and is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Tuesday, April 19 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Wednesday there will be a Funeral Service at the funeral home at 10:00AM. Burial is at Pine Hill Cemetery.
