Michael J. Miller, Sr of Quincy MA, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022, surrounded by family, at the age of 81. Born in Boston, Michael was a Pipefitter for the Local 537, as well as employed by Quincy Housing Authority where he met many friends.
Loving father of Michael J. Miller, Jr. and his wife Katie of Whitman, Paul A. Miller of Quincy, Matthew J. Miller and his wife Jilleanne of Weymouth; dear and loving grandfather of Camille, Grace, Bryn, Tyler, Brodie, and Addison; Brother of Richard “Teddy” Miller and his wife Nancy, the late Henry “Hank” Miller, survived by his wife Edith Miller, the late Robert “Bob” Miller survived by his wife Jean Miller. Mike was also survived by many nieces and nephews including the late Ricky and Cheryl Miller of Quincy. Lastly, Mike was survived by his former wife Paula (DiBona) Miller and Phyllis O’Leary, of Quincy, his loving companion for many years.
Mike was raised in Hough Neck, being a “Necka” he enjoyed endless days on the ocean; fishing, boating and digging clams, with his brothers and many friends. As a child, he loved luxury cars and sports, especially basketball, and that carried him into his fatherhood years, where he attended every one of his sons’ sporting events. Mike had a love of animals, especially his own beloved cats, the late Missy and Bogera. He was known to his pipefitter friends as “Magic” because of his many enthusiastic pranks and costumes that brought smiles and laughter throughout the workplace. Mike made it a point in his life to help those in need when they needed it most. Mike was known as Grampie and “Bampie” to his grandchildren who were the light of his life. They will always remember his sparkling blue eyes, memorable smile and all his singing and dancing.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Wednesday, March 16th from 4:00PM-8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St., Quincy Center. On Thursday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM prior to the Funeral Mass held at Holy Trinity Parish Church of Most Blessed Sacrament 1015 Sea St, Quincy MA at 10:00AM. Cremation to follow. In lieu of donations, the family asks that you spend time with your children, your grandchildren and your loved ones singing and dancing as Mike would have done.
