Mildred T. (Norton) Gallagher of Quincy passed away at Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at age 89. A homemaker, she was born in Boston and graduated from the Practical Arts High School in Roxbury.
The beloved wife of the late Samuel V. Gallagher, Mildred was the loving mother of Ellen Murphy of Hingham, Kevin Gallagher of Enfield, NH, Lorraine Rae of Woodstock, CT, Daniel Gallagher of Dorchester and Maura Morong of Dover, NH. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and her brother, Richard Norton of Weymouth. She was predeceased by six siblings.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 9 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Thursday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church 550 Washington St. Quincy at 10:00am. Burial will be private.
