Obituaries

Ninfa Ann (Sideri) Brophy passed away at Quincy Medical Center on Friday, February 12, 2010 at age 84. Born in Revere, she was raised and educated in Hough’s Neck, graduate of Quincy High School and Fisher Jr. College. Before retiring she worked as a secretary for Carter-Rice Paper Co. in Boston and was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church Ladies Sodality, was a Post Grand Regent of the Catholic Daughters of America and a Cub Scout den mother. Ann enjoyed traveling especially to warm destinations.

The beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Brophy, Ann was the daughter of the late Ottaviano and Adeline Sideri and is survived by her sons Dennis M. Brophy and his wife Karen of Georgia and Joseph F. Brophy and his wife Irene of Quincy and her grandchildren Jeffrey, Michael, Caitlyn and Allison. She was the sister of the late Pasquale Sideri, Louise Palazzi and Monica Pompeo.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 15 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Tuesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at Most Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:00am. Burial is at Pine Hill Cemetery
