Paul A. Mahoney of Weymouth passed away on January 22, 2022, at the age of 94. Born in Worcester, MA, Paul was educated at St. John’s Prep, Fairfield Prep, and attended Boston University. Paul loved to compete and played both hockey and baseball in his youth and became an avid golfer as an adult. He lived in Braintree for 48 years, where he was an active parishioner and usher at St. Francis Assisi and Chairman of the Board at the Braintree Municipal Golf Course. Paul was a US Navy veteran of World War II.

Beloved husband of the late Patricia A. (Curtin) Mahoney to whom he was married for 65 years; loving father to his 8 children, Pamela Fuhrman and her husband Peter of Bellingham, MA, Paul A. Mahoney, Jr. and his wife Linda of Manalapan, NJ, Michele Morgan and her husband Kenneth of Manalapan, NJ, Christopher Mahoney and his wife Karen of Sylvania, OH, Patricia Collins and her husband Daniel of Dallas, TX, Marybeth Connors and her husband Michael of Londonderry, NH, Kellianne Murphy of Arlington, Kerry Motoviloff and her husband John of Madison, WI; Paul is survived by 29 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; dear brother of Michael Robert Taylor Mahoney of Washington D.C., the late John “Jack” Mahoney, the late Mary E. Gagen. He was the son of the late Michael J. and Mary E. Mahoney of Worcester.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours Monday, January 31st from 4:00PM-8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home, 74 Elm St., Quincy Center. On Tuesday there will be a gathering at the Funeral Home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree. Burial to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Paul’s name to St. Anthony’s Shrine in Boston, MA.
