MarinesPeter A. DeWever of Quincy died on August 4, 2016. Born June 18, 1941 in Portland, ME, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Smith) DeWever. When he was 18 he joined the first of his many loves, the United States Marine Corps. Heaven help you if you called him an “ex-Marine”. He quite proudly told you to call him a “former Marine”. His next love was his family, his beloved wife of 54 years, Carol F. (Campbell) DeWever; his children, Karen Vallone and Bob of Quincy, Steven DeWever of ME, Diane O’Brien of Brockton and the late James DeWever; his grandchildren, Stephanie DeWever, Trevor and Donna Vallone, Crystal DePinho and Artie, Devan DeWever, Angela Vallone and Riley O’Brien; and his 5 great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Isabella, Akira, Samara and Ryder. He was the brother of the  Mark DeWever and Becky of ME and the late John and Cindy; and brother-in-law of Sr. Patricia Campbell SCH of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Peter worked for Commonwealth Publishing, started his own business and then worked for Hibernia Bank until it was bought by Eastern Bank, where he worked until he retired due to illness. He was a hard worker and it is that legacy that Peter passed down to his family. Every one of them had his strong work ethic.

We will always love and remember you.

Semper fideles!!
