Peter F. Bertrand, lifelong Quincy resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at the age of 80.

Dear son of the late Eldwidge (Gosselin) and Henry Bertrand; Loving husband of over 51 years to Donna (Shaheen) Bertrand; Devoted father to Alicia Lyons and her husband Walter of Weymouth; Proudest papa to Ayden, Cameron, and Baxter; Dear Brother of Jean (Bertrand) Camilleri the late Robert Smollett. Peter is also survived by many nieces/nephews and some of the greatest friends.

Peter went to Quincy High School (Class of 1961). He was part of the Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers (Local 6) for over 40 years. He was a long time New England Patriots season ticket holder. Peter spent many years playing hockey and acting as the treasurer of the Quincy Executive League. He was a part of many local golf leagues too! Peter enjoyed spending winters in Fort Myers, Florida and could get you anywhere in Massachusetts and Florida by backroads and without directions. He was also a longtime member of the Quincy Lodge of Elks, Torre Dei Passeri, and the Adam’s Heights Men’s Club.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday, April 11th, from 4:00PM-7:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home, 74 Elm Street, Quincy Center. On Wednesday there will be a gathering at the Funeral Home at 9:00AM, followed by a Mass at 10:00AM at St. Joseph’s Church, Quincy. Burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Quincy.

In lieu of flowers Peter’s family has asked to make donations to a scholarship that will be created in Peter’s memory. Donations can be made out to Quincy High School and sent to 100 Coddington Street Quincy, MA 02169.
