Peter J. “Pete” Murphy of Scituate passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at age 48. Raised and educated in Quincy, he lived in Scituate for 19 years and worked as a vault service tech for Diebold. He enjoyed spending time with his children, working on their house which he built himself, and boating with friends aboard his boat “Murphy’s Law.”

The beloved husband of Lisa M. (Mauriello) Murphy for 27 years, Pete was the loving father of Tyler and Stephanie Murphy, beloved son of Robert and Dorothy “Dottie” Murphy of Quincy, dear brother of Bob Murphy of Quincy, Carol O’Brien and her husband Jim of Milton, Michael Murphy and his wife Donna of Hanover, Susan Boudreau and her husband Kevin of Quincy, Jeff Murphy and his wife Leslie of Hamilton, Gail Crann and her husband Paul of Westford and Jamie Murphy and his wife Melissa of Weymouth; and is also survived by his in-laws Joseph and Maureen Mauriello of Kingston, many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 7 from 2:00 to 6:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Monday there will be a Celebration of Pete’s Life at the Funeral Home at 11:00AM. Burial is at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
