Phyllis A. (Holmes) Francis, who grew up in Houghs Neck, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at age 71. Despite many health challenges, Phyllis was a determinedly optimistic person who lived her life full of enthusiasm and energy. She attended Quincy High School, and worked as a cocktail waitress for many years. In 1969, she appeared on the TV show “What’s My Line” with then- House Minority Leader Gerald Ford. She later moved to Las Vegas, where she worked as a poker dealer at the Luxor Casino until she retired. Active in her church in Las Vegas, she traveled to Haiti multiple times to do missionary work. In 2008, she moved to Plymouth where she enjoyed playing cards and Bingo, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.

Phyllis was the beloved sister of Doris Callahan of Pasadena, FL, and was predeceased by her brother, Edward Holmes, and sister, Gertrude Peter. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Phyllis’s life will be held on May 19th at Louis, 1269 Sea St (at the corner of Bay View Ave.) Quincy, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to join in sharing pictures, stories and memories of Phyllis.
