Obituaries

Rachel A. “Reggie” (Mariano) Uvanitte of Quincy passed away at Jordan Hospital in Plymouth on Friday, October 1, 2010 at age 88. A lifelong Quincy resident, she proudly served in the US Army Air Corps in WWII. She was an excellent seamstress and homemaker who will be lovingly remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother. Rachel loved life and enjoyed cooking and entertaining for her family and friends.

The beloved wife of the late Paul James Uvanitte, Reggie was the loving mother of Daniel Uvanitte of Bridgewater, Karen Kelly of Pembroke, Beverly Cummings of OH, Paul J. Uvanitte of Quincy and dear grandmother of Jason and Paul Daniel Uvanitte; Lauren and Kristen Kelly; Jennifer, Denise, Deborah, and Paula; Gary and Paul James Uvanitte; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 5 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Wednesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. John the Baptist Church 44 School St. Quincy. Burial with Military Honors will be at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.
