Obituaries

Richard L. Brooks of Quincy passed away peacefully on August 2, 2023, at the age of 89. Born and raised in Houghs Neck where his love for the ocean inspired Richard to join the Navy. Richard was a United States Veteran who fought in the Korean War.

Richard attended Quincy Public Schools and later obtained his degree as an Electrical Engineer from Northeastern University. He worked as an Electrical Engineer for EG&G for over 30 years and started his career with Raytheon.

Richard was the beloved husband of the late Angela M. (Riccardi) Brooks; loving father of Geraldine M. Good of Florida, Richard A. Brooks and his wife Barbara of Delaware, Camille A. Arena and her husband Frank of Florida, and Jennifer A. Williams and her husband Mark of Andover; devoted grandfather of Matthew, Jonathan, Adam, Christopher, and Jon; great grandfather of seven great grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his siblings; William “Buddy” Brooks, Alice Gallant, Grace Bunting, Philip Brooks, Frederick Brooks, Herbert Brooks. Richard is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Wednesday, August 9th from 9:00am-10:30am at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home, 74 Elm Street, Quincy Center. There will be a Funeral Mass at 11:00am at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Holy Trinity Parish, Quincy. Burial with Military Honors to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
