Obituaries

Robert C. Murphy of Quincy passed away at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Monday, December 13, 2010 at age 81. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in Dorchester, lived for a time in Cambridge and settled in Quincy in 1969. An Army veteran who served in Korea, he worked as a ship fitter and sheet metal worker at General Dynamics in Quincy for over 25 years and loved spending time by the ocean.

The beloved husband of Mary P. (Ferriera) Murphy, Bob was the loving father of Robert C. Murphy, Jr. and his wife Gail of Plymouth and Camile Murphy of Ramsey, MN; dear grandfather of Sage, Jessica, Melissa, Chuck, Clinton and Ashley and great grandfather of Giada, Fiona and Daxon.

There will be a Graveside Service on Friday, December 17 at 2:15am at the MA National Cemetery, Bourne. Family and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the American Lung Assoc. 460 Totten Pond Rd. Suite 400, Waltham, MA 02451 lungne.org.
