Obituaries

Robert D. “Rob” Lavanchy of Weymouth passed away at South Shore Hospital on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at age 53. A textile salesman, he was born in Dorchester, was raised and educated in Walpole and lived in Weymouth for the past 15 years.

The beloved husband of Becky (Sherman) Lavanchy, Rob was the loving son of Jean and Beverly (Staples) Lavanchy of So. Dartmouth, dear brother of Steven J. of Plymouth, Susan P. Goudreau of Marshfield, David J. of No. Easton, Beth A. Allard of Franklin and Gene P. of Walpole, son-in-law of Dr. and Mrs. R. C. Sherman of NM, grandson of Neoma Long of Marion, and is also survived by his aunt, Barbara Smith, his cousin, Robert Smith and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at the Union Congregational Church 136 Rawson Rd. Wollaston at 11:00AM on Friday, April 9. Family and friends are invited. Rob’s ashes will be buried at Maplegrove Cemetery, Walpole at a later date. Visiting hours are omitted.
