Obituaries

Robert “Bob” F. Denvir, Jr. of Quincy passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at age 86. Raised and educated in Brookline, he was a graduate of Bentley College. He had a career in the purchasing field including working as the Purchasing Director and Parking Clerk for the City of Quincy where he retired from. He was a 57-year resident of Houghs Neck, Quincy. A Veteran of the Korean War, US Army, Bob was a member of the American Legion Post 380 for 50 years. He also volunteered as the former president and treasurer of the Houghs Neck Community Council. He enjoyed politics and summering in New Hampshire with family and friends. The son of the  late of the late Robert F. Denvir, Sr. and Julia (Hurley) Denvir, he was the beloved husband of Frances V. (Signorello) Denvir, the loving father of Carol Johnson of Whitinsville, Virginia DelGreco of Kingston, Frances MacDonald and her husband Kenneth of Mansfield, and the late Lorraine Hubrich and her husband Paul of Foxboro; brother of the late Sheila A. Denvir; dear grandfather of Kathleen, Kristina, Robert, Julie, Tina, Keith and Addison; and is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Monday, May 16 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Tuesday there will be a Funeral Service at 10:00AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial with Military Honors is at Pine Hill Cemetery.
