Robert H. Gamache of Quincy passed away at Quincy Medical Center on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at age 86. Born in Worcester, he was raised and educated in Boston and lived in Quincy since 1955. A WWII and Korean War veteran, he served in the Navy for 10 years and worked as an expediter for Anderson Power Products of Boston for many years before retiring in 1991. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post 380 in Hough’s Neck for many years and recently of the Morrissette Post.

The beloved husband of Ellen “Helen” M. (Walsh) Gamache, Bob was the loving father of Gabrunde Monfield and Monica Dougenik, both of Quincy, Elizabeth Felipe of Sanbornville, NH and the late Raymond Gamache; dear grandfather of Sarah and Jackie Dougenik and brother of Doris Johnson of Auburn and the late Norman Gamache.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 23 from 2:00 to 5:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Monday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at Most Blessed Sacrament Church 1017 Sea St. Quincy. Burial with Military Honors will be at MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 2:30pm.
