Obituaries

Ruth W. Hancock, 86 went home to be with the Lord Saturday, June 21, 2014.  Born July 19, 1927 in Quincy,  she was the daughter of the late, John and Mary Walkama. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur LaRue and husband, Jack S. Hancock; sisters, Aili W. Doyle and Lillian W. O’Connell; and her brother, John “Butch” Walkaman. Surviving are her children, Arthur LaRue (Judy) of Orange Park, FL, John LaRue (Karen) of Wilmington, Donna L. Lopes (Al) of Peabody, MA; and Lisa L. Cottrell (Kurt) of Supply, NC; her brother, Richard Walkama of St. Petersburg, FL; seven grandchildren, Kelly LaRue, Megan L. Reece, Albert Lopes, Alex Lopes, Chris Cottrell, Tracy C. Conte and Stephen LaRue; and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a visiting hour on Monday, July 28 starting at 10:00AM, immediately followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00AM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. Ruth’s ashes will then be interred at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.
