Obituaries

Sandra B. (Byk) Conroy of Hanover, formerly of Squantum, Quincy, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016 surrounded by her loving family and friends, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Daughter of the late Albert and Alveta Byk of Squantum, Sandy is survived her loving and devoted husband, Francis T. Conroy of Hanover, her sister Mariane Byk and her children Courtney and Cory Male, all of PA and her brother Ronald Byk of Quincy. She was also the sister of  the late Thomas Byk and leaves behind three stepchildren, Francis Conroy of Marshfield and his children Alexandra and Anna of Scituate; Allison DeStefano, her husband John and their children Katerina and Alex of Cumberland, RI; and Peter Conroy, his wife Sue and their children Kevin and Ben of Hopkinton; as well as her favorite aunt, Mary Roberge of Dracut.

A graduate of North Quincy High School class of 1967, Sandy attended Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston and college in CA. She worked as an executive secretary at CNA Insurance and Grossman Property Management. A lover of the outdoors, Sandy enjoyed hiking in the White Mountains, and cross-country and downhill skiing. She also loved to travel with her husband to historic landmarks and staying at inn and B & B’s on the East Coast, Canada and FL.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Wednesday, February 3 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Thursday there will be a Funeral Service in the funeral home chapel at 10:30AM. Burial is at Pine Hill Cemetery.
