Sandra (Rosener) Duane, 77, passed away on May 22, 2016. Born in Webster, MA, she grew up in Middletown, CT and lived in Quincy for most of her adult life. Sandy attended Middletown High School before transferring to Kents Hill School in Kents Hill, ME. In 1961, she graduated from Jackson College at Tufts University with a degree in Sociology. Her first professional jobs involved research sponsored by the VA and Brookline Department of Public Health. She later worked for Northeast Airlines, which became Delta Airlines, from which she retired after a 25-year career as an airline reservations agent. She loved to travel and shared great adventures with her husband, Bill. She loved sharing stories of her travels, life experiences and family. She and her stories will be missed by many.

The daughter of the late Harry and Edith Rosener, Sandra was the wife of the late William T. Duane of Quincy, sister of the late Robert L. Rosener of Carbondale, CO and the late Arlene R. Mazzotta of Middletown, CT. She is survived by her loving children, Jennifer R. Duane of Quincy, Lisa M. Duane of North Conway, NH and Bryan M. Duane of Weymouth, two grandsons, William J. and Andrew P. Duane, as well as two nieces, Laura D. Petersen and Judy Mazzotta of CT and 3 great-nieces.    

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Wednesday, May 25 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Thursday there will be a celebration of Sandy’s life at the funeral home at 10:00AM. Burial is at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.
