Thomas A. Nigro, Sr. QPD, of Weymouth, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2011 at age 75. Born in Quincy where he was raised and educated, he lived in Weymouth since 1963. A veteran of the Korean War, US Army Airborne, Tom later became an officer on the Quincy Police Dept. where he served for 17 years. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling and was a great cribbage player.

The beloved husband of Barbara S. (Blake) Nigro, Tom was the loving father of Thomas A. Nigro, Jr and his wife Dawn of N. Weymouth, Linda M. Clark and her husband Dan of Halifax and Brian M. Nigro and his wife Cindy of Weymouth; dear brother of Kenneth Tedeschi of Rockland, Rene Peterson of Rockland and Theodore Tedeschi of TN; cherished grandfather of Thomas A. III, Leah, Brian, Joseph, Sarah, Jonathan, Michael, Daniel, Marisa and Zachary; great-grandfather of Justin and Brianna; and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 9 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Saturday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 8:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30AM at Sacred Heart Church 55 Commercial St. Weymouth Landing. Burial with Military Honors is at Village Cemetery, Weymouth.
