Obituaries

Thomas J. Corbett of Weymouth passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at age 93. Born and raised in Dorchester, he lived in Braintree for most of his life. A proud WWII veteran, US Marine Corps, he served on the USS Bennington and took part in Naval action in Japan at Okinawa. Tom worked as a contract supervisor at Gillette and was a master electrician and a member of the Weymouth Eagles. The beloved husband of Virginia M. (McManus) Corbett with whom he shared 70 years of marriage, Tom was the loving father of Thomas Corbett and his wife Terri of Abington, Michael Corbett of Weymouth, Matthew Corbett of Quincy, Doreen Heinrich of Greensboro, NC, Nancy Burke of Pembroke, Regina Dembowski and her husband Paul of Weymouth and the late Patricia Corbett Black; brother of the late William Corbett and Evelyn Grafalo; and is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a visiting hour at 9:00AM on Tuesday, November 29 at the Dennis Sweeny Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00AM at Sacred Heart Church 55 Commercial St. Weymouth Landing. Burial with Military Honors will be at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:30PM.
