Thomas J. Costello of Quincy and Londonderry, NH passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at age 77. Born in Boston where he was raised and educated, he lived in Londonderry for 23 years and Quincy for 15. A Korean War veteran US Navy, he served aboard the USS New Jersey. Before retiring, he worked as a forklift operator for the Teamsters Union Local 25.
The beloved husband of Florence M. (McLeod) Costello, he was the devoted Dad of the late John “Jack” and his wife Lisa (Thorburn) Costello; loving brother of James Costello of Westwood, Ann Buckley of Weymouth and the late Edward Costello of Wilmington; devoted son of the late Edmund and Anna (Evans) Costello of South Boston. He will be remembered fondly by his many nieces, nephews and friends for his goodness and his infectious laugh.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 29 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Thursday there will be a Funeral Service at 10:00am at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Quincy.
