Mr. Timothy J. Connell, of Braintree died on July 18, 2014 in Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston at age 61.

Tim was born in Boston on July 2, 1953, a son of Theresa C. (Mackins) Connell of Walpole and the late James E. Connell, Sr. As young man he developed  a strong work ethic by working at Hamilton Specialties with his brother Steve. In 1982 he joined the U.S. Navy and was proud to serve aboard the USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67). He loved sports and enjoyed attending Boston College football games with his dad and brothers. He had a passion for all different types of music and had a large and eclectic collection. Tim and Karen enjoyed being members of the Inner Circle at the South Shore Music Circus where they enjoyed many happy nights together

Tim worked for Verizon Communications for over twenty-seven years. He was a member of The American Legion Post 86 in Braintree and of the IBEW Local 222.

Besides his mother he is survived by his wife Karen Dodero; his daughter Alicia L. Souza and her husband, Steve, of Middleborough; his stepchildren, Domonic Zingarelli of Braintree and Candice King and her husband, Thomas, of E. Bridgewater; his granddaughter Karina Sousa; his siblings, Josephine A. Connell of FL formerly of Weymouth, Stephen F. Connell and his wife Patricia, of Walpole, Eileen T. Coner and her husband, Joseph, of Hull, Michael J. Connell of Tewksbury, James E. Connell Jr. and his wife, Mimi, of Walpole, David J. Connell and his wife, Gail, of Chelmsford, Francis J. Connell and his wife, Stacey, of Braintree and Janine M. Bent and her husband, David, of Walpole; his aunts and uncle, Dorothy Wilhelm of Braintree, Patricia Morgan of Jamaica Plain and Harold Mackins of Hanover and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday July 24th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Friday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church, 757 Hancock St., Quincy. Burial will be private.
