Timothy J. Ross of Quincy passed away unexpectedly on August 19, 2013 at age 60 due to mesothelioma.

Husband and best friend of Amy O’Connell Ross, beloved Papa to Marisa and her husband Richie Cahill of Weymouth and Lucy Ross of Brooklyn, NY. Son of the late Joan Folan Ross and Harry Ross, Tim leaves siblings Joanne Ross Morrissey and her husband Michael of Quincy, Robert Ross and his wife Karen of Quincy, Ellen Ross Pecce and her husband Robert of Braintree, Russell Ross of Braintree, and James Ross and his wife Mary of Quincy. He was Uncle Tim to many nieces and nephews. Tim will be sorely missed by his many friends and family and by all whose paths he crossed. He loved his family and all of his friends, and continued to be close with many friends from his early years. .

Born and raised in Quincy, and a graduate of Quincy High School, Tim was brilliant beyond conventional education. Lover of sailing, skiing, hiking, music, dog walking, reading, and sports, Tim was a past Commodore and Fleet Captain at Gull Point Yacht Club.

Tim was a dedicated and popular letter carrier for the US Postal Service in Quincy for many years.

Friends may pay their respects on Thursday August 22 from 5-9 p.m. at the tent at Granite Links Golf Club, 100 Quarry Hills Drive, in Quincy. A celebration of Tim’s life will be held on Friday, August 23 at 11:00 a.m. at the Squantum Yacht Club, Quincy Shore Drive. Interment will be private

The family very much appreciates the love and support shown by Tim’s many friends and caregivers during his illness.
