Virginia M. (Giannotti) Menconi of Quincy passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at age 93. Originally from Dorchester, she lived in Quincy most of her life and worked at Filene’s in Braintree for 38 years. She loved and nurtured family members, neighbors and friends throughout her life. And showed what it truly meant to give unconditional love. In return she received the love, care and support of several devoted caretakers, who helped her navigate the difficulties of her elder years.

The beloved wife of the late Joseph L. Menconi. Virginia was the loving mother of Ronald Menconi and his wife Noreen of Raynham, Paula McDonald and her husband Edward of Hingham, Michael Menconi and his wife Lynn of Hingham and Richard Menconi and his wife Maureen of Canton; dear grandmother of Mark, Danny, April, Gina, Maria, Daniella, R.J., Michael, Jr., Meredith, Joseph and Paul; great-grandmother of Charlotte, Adam, Robbie, Isabella, Shea, Jacob, Juliette, Riley and Gianna; sister of the late Julio Giannotti; and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Monday, October 8 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Tuesday, there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. John the Baptist Church 44 School St. Quincy. Burial is at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
