Obituaries

William A. Center, Sr., QFD, Ret., passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at age 69. Born in Rochester, NH, he was raised and educated in N. Weymouth and was a Quincy firefighter for more than 20 years before retiring. Bill was a Past Treasurer for the QFD Union, served on the Board of Directors of Quincy Credit Union, the Executive Board of Quincy Retirees and the MA State Association of Employees, and was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. The husband of the late Georgia E. (McGrail) Center, he was the loving father of William A. Center, Jr. of Brighton and Cynthia M. Kenney and her husband Paul of Braintree; dear grandfather of Shawn, Adam and Brian Kenney and is also survived by his dear friend of Gayle MacDonald of Quincy.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, May 11 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Tuesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 10:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30AM at St. John the Baptist Church 44 School St. Quincy. Burial is at Pine Hill Cemetery.
