William E. Kahakalau, of Weymouth passed away suddenly at South Shore Hospital on Monday, June 28, 2010 at age 66. Born in Boston where he was raised and educated, he graduated from Boston Technical High School and served in the Air Force. He worked at Bradlee’s and College Town, then for Kemper Insurance in Quincy and retired from Arbella of Quincy in 2009. After marrying in 1986, he moved to Quincy then to Weymouth in 1994. William was an Elvis fan, a sports fan and enjoyed yard sales and flea markets.

The beloved husband of Cathie T. (Wiley) Kahakalau of Weymouth, he was the loving father of Joyce Kahakalau of Quincy, dear brother of Diane Stango and her husband Don of NY, Barbara Zahran of OR and the late Bobby Kahakalau and Joanne Shinn and is also survived by his mother-in-law Rose Wiley of Weymouth.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, July 2 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Saturday there will be a Funeral Service at the funeral home at 10:00am followed by burial at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
