Obituaries

William Joseph Hosford of Quincy, formerly of Charlestown, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at age 79. Aka Hos, Bill, Billy, Son, Brother, Uncle, Godfather and Friend, he was the loving son of the late Walter Francis and Evelyn Marie (Kelsey) Hosford; devoted brother of the late Evelyn Godfrey and Walter Hosford and is survived by three nephews and one niece. After serving his country in the Air Force, he spent 50 years of dedicated service in the role of Officer with the Special Police Department of Public Safety at Long Island Chronic Disease Hospital and recently retired. Billy was proud of his family, his Irish heritage and the fact that he was a true “Townie”.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Saturday, February 4 from 2:00 to 4:00PM, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. His interment with Military Honors will be held at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
