Obituaries

William J. Jolly, Jr. of Plymouth, formerly of Quincy, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016 at age 79.  Born in Boston, he lived in Quincy most of his life and was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. A graduate of St. Columbkille High School and  Boston College, Class of ’63, William earned his advanced degree at Boston State Teacher’s College and his Doctorate at Northeastern University. He worked as an administrator for the Hanover Public Schools for over 25 years before retiring. The son of the late William and Elizabeth Jolly, William was the beloved husband of Nancy M. (Cowley) Jolly, the loving father of William J. Jolly of Groton, NH, Martha D. Forrester and her husband Richard of Brockton, Mark E. Jolly of Boston and Kristina M. Jolly and her boyfriend Dave Preston of Marina del Rey, CA; dear brother of Rita Brown of Quincy and the late Lucy Connerney of FL; and is also survived by his delightful granddaughters, Sarah Katherine Jolly and Abigail Rose Forrester.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Friday, April 22 from 9:00 to 10:30AM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center followed by a Funeral Mass at11:00AM at St. Ann’s Church 757 Hancock St. Quincy. Burial is at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, W. Roxbury.
