William M. MacDonald, born Nov. 28, 1918 passed away on March 31, 2011 peacefully at home. Raised and educated in W. Somerville, he was the youngest of four brothers and a sister and resided in Quincy and Scituate, the last ten years in Quincy. A WWII Navy Veteran, he worked as a cameraman in lithography with Spaulding, Moss and Buck Printing before retiring. His hobby was stamp and coin collecting and he also enjoyed reading, traveling and watching Red Sox games.

He was pre-deceased by his older son Daniel, and is survived by his wife Gertrude (Trudy), his son William and wife Rita, his daughter-in-law Carol, his grandchildren Craig and wife Jessie, Lynn Meusgeier and husband Bill, a great grandson Samuel and several devoted nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, a visiting hour will be held on Friday, April 8 from 10:00 to 11:30am, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Bill’s ashes will be interred at Blue Hill Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date.
