I have thought about Mr. Doyle a great many times over the years. He was such a kind and steady force for me when I knew him as a biy and young man. He will always be a hero to me. I have recalled his composure and strength many, many times in my own parenting and professionalism. He was John Wayne to me, truly. I have missed his example over these long years.

To Judy, Billy, and Chris and all Will Doyle's loved ones, Imagine my astonishment and sadness when I learned of your Dad's passing on the same day as our Mother, his (and you Mom's) neighbor, Edie. Your parents were the most wonderful people. Your Mom with her quick-wittedness and inimitable sense of humor, along with your Dad and his quiet, smiling, steadfast demeanor. It is with fondness that I recall his generosity in driving me to school in South Boston on many a morning. He helped us save carfare and I got to know your Dad better. Even as the teen I was, your Dad was very easy to be around. My outstanding memory of those rides is that the song "Java" (Al Hirt) was popular and played frequently on the radio. Will always drove safely with his hands on the steering wheel at 10 and 2 as they should be. "Java" would come on the radio and with his hands still on the wheel he would keep time to the music with his thumbs which he didn't do with any other songs that I recall. It was very subtle, but because I love music, I noticed it. It made me happy because it told me he liked music and really liked the happy, uplifting melody in "Java" as I did. In fact I'm listening to it and remembering your Dad fondly as I write. What a great guy. I'm so sorry for you loss. Rhonda Provost Benyo

To my wonderful neighbors, Judy, Billy, Chris and family...... Words cannot express the feelings I have for both your mom and dad. They were loving, generous, honest, humorous.....Just all around Good people. I am so grateful to have had them in my life. Dad was a quiet man, but would always have an ear for listening...He would always ask me how my boys were doing....He loved to tell me about his grandchildren, always with delightful story. I know he is with your mom, and is at peace. Honestly, I think all of Crosby St. is having a reunion up there. I will miss him dearly... Love you guys and will keep you in my prayers.
